My name is John Moraga. I grew up in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve been an athlete my whole life. I started wrestling in the 10th grade and quickly saw my potential. With the work ethic I had developed in wrestling, I was able to earn my way to an education at Arizona State University by winning an AZ state wrestling title over a very good nationally ranked opponent in the finals match my senior year. I was a Division-1 athlete while wrestling for ASU from 2002-2007. During my time at ASU I competed all four of my eligible years and was a starter for three of them, twice earning medals at the Pac-10 championships. Many of my teammates and coaches have since gotten involved in MMA and I’ve been a fan ever since. My ASU ties led me to a nearby gym where I have been training now for nearly four years. Arizona Combat Sports had a reputation for being one of Arizona’s top gyms and I was quickly a believer. During my time at ACS I have become a professional MMA fighter and currently have a record of 8 wins 1 loss. My goal in MMA is simply to become a world champion as well as one of the best ever. I work very hard and put a lot of preparation into my training. I believe in my coaches, my training and myself and I have confidence that my goals are well within reach and not far away. I pride myself in being a very exciting fighter as well as a very skilled fighter. Even though I have a wrestling background I consider myself a standup fighter. I love to give the audience a skilled high-pace fight and not a wrestling match however, I’m trained and prepared to win and finish fights whatever the scenario in the cage. |
